Economic dashboard
This collection contains graphs showing the impact of the Global Financial Crisis (2007-09) and the COVID-19 pandemic on Greater Manchester boroughs. The datasets contain statistics on employment, unemployment, weekly wages, output and house prices. These indicators allow for comparisons across Greater Manchester boroughs with the North West of England and the UK.

Gender and the labour market
Using the Annual Population Survey, these graphs show occupation, sex and employment rates across the ten combined authorities in the years 2019 and 2020. For further information on gender and occupational segregation, read our publication On Gender which aims to identify what we know – and what we need to know – about gender inequality to tackle the big policy agendas devolved to Greater Manchester and other areas with devolution deals.

Health Index for Greater Manchester
The following graph uses data derived from the Health Index, a measure developed by the Office for National Statistics which adopts a broad definition of health, including health outcomes, health-related behaviours and personal circumstances alongside wider determinants of health that relate to the areas where people live. Using the interactive map, you can select specific health indicators and compare their values across the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Learn more about how policymakers can address the interlinked challenges of health, urban development and climate change in our publication Building Utopia.
